Prince George City Council Regular Council Meeting
The council discussed the Carriage Park modernization program and ongoing efforts to secure grant funding for the project, noting the significant competition for these funds. A major portion of the discussion focused on the financial burden of provincial government downloading on municipal budgets, specifically citing costs associated with bylaw services, RCMP body-worn camera implementation, and the removal of the Northern Homeowner grant. Council members advocated for continued intergovernmental advocacy at the UBCM to push back against these unfunded mandates and to include the report on downloading costs in the strategic planning for the next council term.
