The commission reviewed two agenda items. The first item concerned a request by Recycle Services LLC for a waiver of land development for a 5-acre leasehold designated for light industrial concrete, brick, and block recycling. Despite public concerns regarding the environmental impact and lack of public hearing, the commission granted the waiver. The second item involved an amended final plan for the McGill Fairless Hills Composting Facility, proposing the installation of air pollution control infrastructure, including a new acid scrubber, enclosed filtration systems, and an exhaust stack. The commission discussed the planned enhancements and fire safety requirements before granting approval for the amended plan.
The Zoning Hearing Board addressed several petitions during the meeting. The board voted to continue the Lakeview Terrace application to a future date. Additionally, the board granted dimensional variances for three applications: one for a side yard setback regarding a deck at a residential property, one for the placement and height of a fence at a residential property, and one for the size of a wall sign at a commercial property.
